What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognize you on later visits. Sites also use similar technologies that work without cookies: browser storage (such as localStorage), tracking pixels, analytics scripts, and fingerprinting, which identifies a browser from its settings. These are often used to measure visitors, remember logins, or track people across sites for advertising.
Our website
fanoutstudio.com sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It uses no analytics, no advertising or social media pixels, no embedded videos or widgets, and no tracking of any kind.
The site loads no third-party resources: every page, image, stylesheet, script and font comes from fanoutstudio.com itself. Other companies' servers are only contacted if you choose to follow a link to their site, such as the original article in our example.
When you request a free sample pack, the details you type in the form are sent to our server to create your sample. Nothing is saved in your browser.
Our private portals
Client and sample portals set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. There are no accounts or passwords: your private link is what opens your portal. When you approve, edit or comment on a post, that is saved on our server, not in your browser, so it shows up on any device you open the link on.
Fonts in the portal. The portal currently loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When it does, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details, as with any web request. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies. We plan to serve these fonts from our own server so the portal, like our website, contacts no third parties.
If you use the copy or download buttons, the post is copied to your clipboard or saved as a file on your device, only when you click.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This isn't a cookie and isn't used to track you. We use it only to run the site, fix problems and prevent abuse, and it's kept for a short period. Our privacy policy has the details.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we don't track you, there's nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. We honor both anyway, as our privacy policy explains.
If this changes
If we ever decide to use cookies or similar technologies, we'll update this page before we do, listing each one, who sets it, what it's for and how long it lasts. For anything that isn't strictly necessary to run the service, such as analytics, we'll ask for your consent first and give you an easy way to change your choice later.
